* After the Earth invasion, the Federation's unwieldy Earth Forces were reorganized under a joint command, with land, sea, and air forces grouped into regional combat commands. Among these were the European Forces, North American Forces, and the Far Eastern Forces to which the Kojima Battalion is assigned.
