Sono state confermate le date della 50th Shizuoka Hobby Show  l'edizione del cinquantenario della più grande fiera del modellismo internazionale nipponico, uno dei più grandi appuntamenti della stagione mondiale, momento fondamentale della stagione per tutti i grandi gruppi editoriali nel quale presentano le loro principali novita nel campo del modellismo ed anche, sfruttando l'enorme attenzione del pubblico, dell'animazione.

Da giovedì 12 maggio alle ore 9.30 al 15 maggio alle ore 16.00 centinaia di migliaia di persone arriveranno a Shizuoka, la città del modellismo per festeggiare questo evento che quest'anno avrà un duplice aspetto: celebrare, anche se in modo diverso da come si sarebbe voluto,  il cinquantesimo anniversario della fiera modellistica e celebrare uno dei primi momenti di rinascita dell'industria nipponica. Del Giappone. Perchè il modellismo è parte, non piccola, dell'industria nipponica.

Per quanto riguarda Sunrise e la Bandai e del Gundam potrebbe essere una delle possibili occasioni nelle quali riannodare i fili e presentare la nuova serie che si sarebbe dovuta lanciare proprio a marzo.O quantomeno accennarvi.

Per chi non ricorda o non sappia cosa sia Shizuoka un video delle manifestazioni del 2010 ci ricorda l'importanza di questa manifestazione.

Al termine c'è anche il Master Grade Delta Plus ma solo per una decina di secondi.

Dopo due anni la statua a grandezza naturale del RX 78-2 della prima serie di Mobile Suit Gundam ritornerà a Tokyo, ma a pezzi!
L’Odaiba Gundam Project 2011, infatti, porterà il bianco mobile suit  non assemblato al Symbol Promenade Park di Odaiba dal 13 al 21 Agosto: i visitatori potranno così vedere da vicino le varie parti del robot, notando tutti i dettagli che possono sfuggire osservando la statua completa alta 18 metri; e potranno anche toccare e perfino sedersi sulla mano destra del Gundam.
Il biglietto costa 500 Yen (è gratuito per i bambini in età prescolare), e parte degli incassi sarà devoluto alle vittime del disastro naturale dell’11 Marzo.
La statua venne inaugurata a Odaiba nel Luglio 2009, dove giganteggiò fino all’Agosto dello stesso anno; dal Luglio del 2010 al Marzo del 2011 venne mostrata a Shizuoka, sede delle fabbriche dei Gunpla della Bandai.
